Words of Wisdom - Olympus, FMM067P

Remember precision aerobatics? Top Hat, Cuban Eight, Humpty Bump and many other terms. I must be getting old - can't remember them all. Today we have Harrier, Water Fall, Bottle Cap and a whole bunch of other terms the 3Ders invent.

I've spent many an hour learning and perfecting precision flying, but as many of us have discovered in the hobby, a young family comes first. Spending each weekend (per the other half) away was not a good thing. I went to just sport flying.

Along come these two great FMS planes (Olympus and Explorer). I'm older and a grandfather, so I now have the time, when out of the office, to relearn. Will I go back to competition? No, but the past joy and memories will always be there each time I take one out to fly.

Both planes are the same in design. The Explorer is the little brother and flies just like the Olympus, a little more twitchy than the Olympus but can be “tamed” by using expo and dual rates. Both fly like they're on rails and will perform all the scale maneuvers you can remember or read about and want to try.

For those old enough to remember, these both relive Hanno Prettner's many models and style of flying. Google his name and enjoy reading about his style. Get one of these models if so moved and go fly precision Aerobatics.
